Nolla_E is an energy efficiency software company that helps buildings achieve carbon neutrality in the most profitable way. There are about 1000 different energy efficiency measures for every building. Each of these has a price and an effect on the building. They also impact each other, meaning that any change made influences other aspects of the system. These measures can add up to 100,000 combinations, which Nolla_E’s software evaluates by generating a digital twin of the building, simulating energy consumption, and optimizing performance. By considering various technical and financial factors, we help property owners identify the most cost-effective path to carbon neutrality.

In addition to optimizing energy systems, we analyze HVAC equipment at the component level, providing deeper insights into device efficiency and potential improvements. Our approach also includes creating a database of surplus HVAC equipment that can be reused, promoting circular economy principles. By identifying devices with remaining lifecycle potential, we enable their repurposing in future projects, reducing waste and contributing to sustainable building practices.

As part of our commitment to data-driven decision-making, Nolla_E quantitatively analyzes proposed pilot projects for their potential savings. This includes evaluating partial modernization of specific equipment, ensuring that upgrades deliver maximum impact with minimal investment.

Swegon is a market-leading supplier of indoor climate solutions for people to feel good inside. We provide solutions for ventilation, heating, cooling and climate optimisation, as well as connected services and expert technical support. 

The focal point of our work, as for many others in the industry, has so far been to find ways to reduce the operational carbon footprint – in our case minimising the energy used for ventilation, heating and cooling (HVAC) in buildings. However, we recognise a need and maturity to also address embodied carbon. Today, we gather pioneering alternatives to the standard way of working in our RE:3 concept, including RE:duce, RE:use and RE:vitalise.

As part of RE:use, we aim to establish circular business models that allow for HVAC products to be exactly that – reused – and the goal is to offer these with similar warranties as new modern products. Through the Nordic Circularity Piloting Program, we seek to pilot and scale circular models, and through strong collaborations enable new methodologies for circularity in HVAC viable on an industrial scale.

Participating in The Nordic Circularity Piloting Program is of great strategic value for Cradlenet, both in terms of the direct benefits the program will give to participating member companies, and in terms of generating new knowledge on best practices and needs for increasing circularity in technical building solutions.

Cradlenet will use the results and insights of the program to continue sharing knowledge and best practices, helping companies implement circular business models and advocating for political policies that will further enable the transition to a circular economy.
