Pioneering circular solutions in technical building equipment
The Nordic Circularity Piloting Program (NCPP) fast-tracked the development and implementation of circular solutions in the Nordic building sector. Between 2024 and 2026, 21 companies piloted circular solutions for HVAC, elevators, access systems, sanitary equipment and electrical systems in eight real projects across Sweden, Finland and Norway, generating practical methods, tools and policy input to help scale circular technical building solutions.

Events
Join us for the Final Event of the Nordic Circularity Piloting Program for Technical Building Solutions, organised at Nordbygg fair Stockholm on April 22. The event will also be streamed online. This seminar marks the culmination of a 20‑month Nordic effort, where 21 building sector actors came together to pilot circular economy solutions for technical building equipment in 8 different pilots across Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
At this event, we will share key findings and recommendations from across the entire program and hear directly from the pilot teams, manufacturers, property owners, construction companies and new market enablers, as they present their experiences and results. The showcases will be followed by a commentary and a cross-value-chain panel discussion exploring what it will take to move from individual pilots to mainstream adoption, including the business models, collaboration structures, and policy changes needed to accelerate the transition.

The online review sessions in March 2026 will focus on sharing results, key findings, and lessons learned from the eight circular pilots. Four pilots will present in each session. Agendas will be published closer to the event.
The Program's kick-off session provided an overview of circularity in technical building equipment, focusing on the current state and emerging opportunities. Participants gained insights from industry cases and heard from companies actively engaged in the circular economy.

The second session focused on aligning value chain collaboration and decision making within the construction process to enable circularity in technical building equipment. Participants explored business models like reuse, refurbishment and take-back schemes.

The third session focused on the collaboration and partnerships needed to enable the circularity of technical installations. Participants explored how partnerships across the value chain can help overcome barriers such as dismantling, reverse logistics, and product recovery.

The session was an official World Circular Economy Forum Side Event
The focus of the last value chain session, planning and preparing for circular pilots, was on how to turn circular ideas into concrete pilots, exploring the practical steps needed to design and pilot circular solutions in technical building systems. Participants heard from leading industry actors who are already piloting and scaling circular business models such as Product-as-a-Service, take-back schemes, and refurbishment programs.
