The Combient Pure-led Nordic Circularity Piloting Program is now seeking applications for pilots in real buildings testing circularity in technical building equipment. The Nordic Circularity Piloting Program is designed to fast-track the development and implementation of circular solutions in the Nordic building sector.
Applications are open until June 6th, and the decision on which pilots will be selected for the Program and enjoy the Program’s facilitated support and joint communications efforts will be made by the Program’s Steering Group in mid-June. Selected pilots will be informed by week 25 on their acceptance to the Program’s piloting group - read on for details on who can apply and what pilots will get as part of the Program!
What kinds of pilots is the Program looking for?
The Program is seeking pilots in real building projects, where manufacturing companies, end customers and other related stakeholders showcase a circular product or service during fall 2025. Technical building equipment provide the technical infrastructure needed to supply a building with energy, water, and other services, encompassing e.g. heating, ventilation, air conditioning, elevators, or entrance systems. The circular activities to be piloted can be e.g. dismantling, take-back schemes, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing or product-as-a-service, and pilots can take place in Finland, Sweden, Norway, or Denmark.
Pilots will be selected based on strategic fit with the Program’s goals on scaling circularity in technical building equipment, the pilot’s feasibility and readiness (including the willingness of all stakeholders to actively participate and share results from the pilots), and the pilot’s impact and scaling potential. The selection criteria for pilots is outlined in further detail on the Program page.
How does the Program support pilots?
Already in the spring, the Program has been supporting the sharing of insights and the formation of pilots through matchmaking sessions, an online Miro board for sharing pilot ideas, as well as informal online meetings for meeting potential partners.
Now, a free Circular Pilot Canvas tool is available for anyone interested in forming a pilot - the tool is available for download on the Program page, and will help in preparing answers to the pilot Application Form, as well as plan out the piloting activities and prepare for common challenges in piloting circular business models in multi-stakeholder set-ups.
The pilots selected for the Program’s piloting group will have access to joint piloting clinics to share insights and learnings, pilot-specific sparring sessions, as well as joint communications efforts provided by the Program.
Please note that the Program does not provide funding for pilot projects.
Apply now and be part of the movement to transform the Nordic building sector!
In buildings, technical equipment present the third largest emission source after energy and main construction materials, when considering the whole lifecycle of the building. The Nordic Circularity Piloting Program strives for collaborative industry transformation in this area.
The piloting phase marks the second phase of the 20-month long program. Over the course of spring 2025, the Program has brought together 136 companies from across the Nordic building sector for a seminar and matchmaking series, gathering 250 participants and resulting in over 75 one-to-one speed-dating sessions.
After the fall 2025 piloting period, in spring 2026 the Program will finalize with review sessions and a final event to consolidate and share learnings, as well as form policy recommendations.
We are looking forward to your piloting ideas!
